About this property
Hosted by 4Creeks Cabin Co.
A private & eclectic Appalachian Mountain experience awaits you at 4Creeks. Well off the main road and nested in the trees, “On the Rocks” geodome is a luxury “glamping” experience! This geodesic dome has it all— full kitchen, full bath, supplemental heat & air conditioning, babbling creek and forest views.
Want to go out? We're only 10 minutes from downtown. Like staying in? Our full kitchen and grill bring you comforts of home.
Larger party than 4? Book our Skoolie “High Rollin” for 2 more (seasonal)!
This dome has it all! You will drive right up beside the dome and park next to the fire pit area to easily unload your belongings. On the deck, you’ll find outdoor seating, a gas grill, and space to hang out in nature and listen to the creek below. The fire pit area with outdoor seating and Breeo brand smokeless fire pit is just steps away. (Not available in high wind— Smokey the Bear says so!) Bring your own firewood or purchase some nearby.
Inside, you’ll be greeted with the giant, 20-ft window overlooking the forest. The living area has a couch and two chairs and dining area for 4. The coffee bar is in the living area and features a tool cart stocked with all your coffee pod and tea needs. For coffee, you can choose from keurig or make a whole pot (starter pack of locally roasted grounds and some pods are provided - BYO for longer stays). Inside the cart you’ll find glasses, including wine glasses, on the left and a microwave on the right.
On the right upon entering, you’ll find the full kitchen equipped with full-sized refrigerator, electric oven/stove, sink with separate filtered water spigot, top-loading dishwasher, plenty of pots and pans, cooking essentials, toaster, blender, and more! This kitchen is stocked by someone who loves to cook.
In the middle of the dome, there is a wall that partitions the master bedroom and bathroom (over which lives the loft!) from the main living space and kitchen.
The master bedroom features a California King sized, green tea infused memory foam mattress bed, plenty of outlets for charging your electronics (please no personal space heaters), a 32” ROKU TV, places to hang your clothes (coat hangers provided) and fold-out luggage racks with storage. The linens are provided as are extra blankets if you need a little something more than the fluffy duvet.
The bathroom features a spacious 3’ x 4’ shower with sliding door, a vanity with single sink and plenty of counter and drawer space to stash your stuff. Toilet and toilet paper is provided for you. Towels are provided. You’ll even find essentials available for your use in case you forgot anything for your stay.
In the living area you will find a ships ladder to take you up to the loft where you will find a queen sized bed with green tea infused memory foam mattress that is positioned to allow you to star gaze through the skylight, a 32” ROKU TV, and an optional twin sized floor mattress (4” memory foam- great for kids - available upon request). Linens are provided for these additional sleeping arrangements upon request.
Parking is free and on-site, WiFi is free and available, and the hosts will give you plenty of trip ideas to maximize your vacation. You’re sure to enjoy a stress-free vacation in the forest and be stoked by the quick drive to local restaurants, shops, and attractions.
This dome is a private airbnb. You’ll have access to the entire structure except for the utility basement below. The basement is used to supply our other rentals, so you may occasionally hear one of our crew members down there for restocking, but the dome does not access it from your area so you shouldn’t be disturbed.
You have approximately 10 acres available to you for exploring. Please abide no trespassing signs which mark the edges of our property. Please respect neighbors and other guests at adjacent properties as you explore--DO NOT walk uphill on the road, these are private properties. Please be mindful of hunting seasons in the fall and spring, taking care not to wander outside of the woods surrounding the rentals and not crossing roads to wander unless you ask first.
At 4Creeks Cabin Co., guest experience is our thing. From the moment you book until checkout, we strive to provide you with the most seamless stay including recommendations for local eateries and things to do, as well as accommodating reservations and special requests as possible. Check out our reviews- they speak for themselves!
We live on the same property and are usually just a quick message or call away if you have any needs or questions during your stay. However, our farm and house are a short drive away and if you don’t reach out, we won’t bother you. Occasionally we are not at home but will do our best to help you if you need anything!
Our neighborhood is mostly farms and people’s homes. We don’t have many rentals in the area so please be respectful of our neighbors land and privacy.
You can drive right up to the dome, although in winter months you may need 4WD. The roads are rough gravel mountain roads that we maintain ourselves with our farm equipment as much as we are able. Please understand that this is not a paved road that is not maintained by local or state authorities. Please plan accordingly and be aware that there will be bumps and rocks to encounter on your drive. (See more below for winter months, late October to mid-May)
In the summer, please know that the loft will be warmed up by the sun during the day. Rest assured that it will cool by evening for a comfortable and awesome nights sleep under the stars.
During winter months:
**The dome does have a mini-split and electric heaters as well as an insulated liner. However, it is not insulated like a house would be and does not heat and cool like a traditional dwelling. We can only guarantee about 20 degrees warmer in the dome during the coldest, windiest weather. Please plan accordingly and bring warm clothing in the winter (socks and slippers!), and an open mind during the middle of the day in the summer (go outside and play- rest assured, it will cool down for a wonderful sleep at night!).
**The road to the dome is gravel as mentioned above and can get icy. We try to keep the road scraped as best we can but cannot use salts due to the gravel. We recommend 4WD or AWD. A slower and steady climb up the hill is best (10 MPH and keep going, don't stop) when it's icy. If a neighbor is coming down, they know to pull off and let others come up before they go down! Please also abide by this policy to keep everyone safe.
**At 3800 ft elevation, we get really high winds in the winter and fall. You will not be able to use the firepit due to this, and it may be unavailable so please just be aware that this is out of our control.
